Equality Plan Sólar ehf 2023 – 2026
Purpose
Sólar ehf employs a diverse group of employees, of different nationalities and with different backgrounds. The equality plan is presented in accordance with the law on equal rights and equal status of the sexes no. 150/2020, and other laws and requirements that are related to equality.
The purpose of the plan is to ensure equal status and equal rights for the sexes and those with a neutral registration in the national register, who work within the company regardless of the job they perform. Sólar ehf is committed to being a workplace where all employees are evaluated on their own merits, regardless of gender, nationality, age, religious beliefs or other such factors.
Sólar ehf will present the plan to all employees, as managers and employees must be aware of the importance of equality in all jobs and projects within the company.
The equality plan applies to all employees of Sólar ehf.
Sólar has also established a specific equal pay policy.
Objective
Sólar emphasizes equal gender rights to wages, positions, jobs and participation in committees and jobs among all Sólar professions. The company’s employees shall also enjoy the same opportunities, rights and working conditions regardless of race, nationality, religion or other factors. Sólar received equal pay certification in 2020 and has maintained it since then according to Article 7 of Act No. 150/2020. Maintenance certification will be done every year and re-certification every three years.
The following are Sólar’s goals:
- Employees shall enjoy the same wages and benefits for similar and equally valuable work, regardless of gender.
- A position that is available for application must be open to everyone, regardless of gender.
- Emphasis is placed on vocational training and continuing education being available to all employees, regardless of gender.
- Emphasis is placed on employees being able to coordinate working hours and family life as much as possible.
- Employees shall be facilitated to return to work after maternity and parental leave or leave from work due to urgent family circumstances.
- Bullying, gender-based violence, gender-based harassment and sexual harassment are not tolerated in the workplace.
